Public Works
The Water Folk is deeply committed to playing our part in creating a more resilient and sustainable world through public works. We believe that every community deserves access to smart, regenerative water solutions that restore ecosystems and conserve precious resources. By partnering with public agencies, schools, and nonprofits, we help design and implement projects that benefit both people and the planet. Our team takes pride in using our expertise to serve the public good and leave a lasting positive impact on the landscapes we touch.

We are proud to collaborate with the nonprofit, Daily Acts, who are dedicated to holistic education and heart-centered approaches. Their work in creating connected, equitable, and climate-resilient communities through daily transformative actions is inspiring. Together, we aim to reconnect individuals to themselves, their communities, and the planet, fostering societal and environmental healing.

The Water Folk partnered with Daily Acts, the Sonoma Resource Conservation District, and the City of Petaluma to design and install 8,000 gallons of rainwater storage at La Tercera Elementary School. This project captures valuable rainwater for use in the school gardens while reducing stormwater runoff and supporting local groundwater recharge. By integrating hands-on learning opportunities, it also helps students and the school community embrace sustainability and practical water conservation.
This collaboration builds on our ongoing work with Daily Acts through the Land Resiliency Partnership (LRP). Together, these efforts demonstrate how partnerships between local organizations, municipalities, and schools can strengthen community water resilience while inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

The Water Folk has been honored to play a central role in advancing community-scale water resilience across Petaluma. These installations, focused especially on Petaluma’s East Side, address both drought and flood vulnerability while supporting habitat, soil health, and long-term water conservation.
Our partnership with Daily Acts began in 2024 with the installation of 15 residential laundry-to-landscape greywater systems through the Land Resiliency Partnership (LRP). In 2025, we are proud to continue this important work with an additional 15 greywater systems, further expanding the program’s impact and reach.
The LRP has demonstrated how strategic partnerships and nature-based design can create meaningful, place-based climate resilience — one home and one landscape at a time.
